Amsterdam is not only home to some very exciting brands, it is also a paradise for shopping enthusiasts – for both women and men. Not far away from the popular shopping district between Damrak and Nieuwendijk, I found some menswear stores in Amsterdam that I enjoyed very much in particular.
ETQ Store
ETQ Amsterdam is quite a young shoe label founded in 2010 creating timeless and luxurious interpretations of classic tennis sneakers. All pieces are handmade in Portugal using only the best materials.
At the ground floor of former notorious nightclub RoXY, ETQ created a flagship store celebrating the minimalist beauty of concrete. The brand’s only store can be found in the heart of the Dutch capital right in front of the famous Bloemenmarkt. And I have to say that it undoubtedly belongs to my favorite places in the city (I’m not really a sightseeing guy anyways). Like almost no other brand, ETQ managed to translate their modern and minimalist brand DNA into a store that showcases their products in beautiful fashion.

About
About is the ‘ultimate men’s store’. The concept store features brands like French label Drôle de Monsieur, ampére amsterdam or Norse Projects. About owns two stores that are both located close to the popular neighborhood of Jordaan west of the city center. Men with a passion for exclusive ready-to-wear labels definitely need to drop by.

PRJCT AMS
I strolled around Amsterdam’s 9 streets quite often in the past years as it is home to a lot of independent Amsterdam-born labels and small shops. But one that might stand out for men in particular is PRJCT AMS. The label which was founded in 2011 produces high-quality essentials for men (and women). However, they don’t only design simple tees and hoodies, but use a unique mix of materials which make the garments different compared to the other essentials in your wardrobe.
