Most Swedish brands stand for minimalist design, unobtrusive style and high standards of quality and sustainability. Of course, we all know these Swedish labels like Acne Studios, Filippa K or Tiger of Sweden that turned their Scandinavian origins into a distinct part of their DNA.

ASKET
I already introduced ASKET in a previous article and no doubt, ASKET is one of the brands every man should know. The Gothenburg-based label creates premium essentials that everyone should have in their wardrobe – from the simple cotton t-shirt to the chic linen shirt for warm summer days. For their pieces, ASKET uses organic as well as recycled materials and offers full transparency for all of their products (included the landed cost for every garment).
AXEL ARIGATO
Launched in 2014, Axel Arigato is still quite a young brand. What started as an Instagram page featuring footwear quickly turned into a successful fashion label. The contemporary collections feature references to art, music and architecture. Sustainability and transparency also play an important role for the Gothenburg-based brand. Most of the products are made in Portugal in a small number of family-owned factories using organic cotton and European leather. For all Berliners: The label just opened a lovely new store in the center of the German capital.

Another Swedish brand you need to know (if you don’t already) is Sandqvist. The Gothenburg-based label creates “sustainable bags made to last”. And Sandqvist’s timeless backpacks are undoubtedly my favorite ones in the market. Decide between the classic black or choose a more daring color like yellow or orange. Sandqvist bags look more than good in every color.

Uniforms for the Dedicated is actually a workwear studio focused on outfitting the contemporary worker. However, the label offers a selection of ready to wear pieces based on the principles of minimalism and sustabiability. Uniforms only uses organic and recycled materials and besides their ready-to-wear pieces, the Stockholm-based brand is a very successful outfitter for corporations like Volvo as well as first-class hotels and restaurants.
