You are based in Amsterdam, surely one of the most exciting places in Europe. What do you love most about this city?

If it’s one of the most exciting places in Europe I let others decide but what I love is the diversity in the city. Whatever you are looking for, you can find it. From beautiful canals and shops buzzing with people up to small pockets of serenity. If you ever go and visit Amsterdam, I can highly recommend going off the beaten path and just wander around the city. Oh, and stay away from all touristy parts 😉 You wouldn’t get to experience Amsterdam at its fullest.

Let’s talk a little bit about fashion. First of all: Hoodie or button shirt?

I’m going to cheat: Button shirt to the office, hoodie in the weekend to relax.

You embrace the motto ‘less is more’. What does that mean to you?

Less clutter, clear mind, only have what you need and invest in higher quality. Nobody needs six different grey sweaters. Get one, invest in quality, take care of it, and enjoy looking good for a long time.

‘Less is more’ also goes hand in hand with the term ‘sustainability’. There are many young and aspiring brands from all over Europe that take sustainability very seriously. Are there some brands that stand out to you?

It’s really hard to pick a few as I would do injustice to all the other brands that are working hard to make fashion less polluting. But if I have to name three, I would say ISTO, Asket and Unborn are great examples. They are transparent about the full production chain, from where it is sourced, made, up to the cost split. Which in my opinion sets the minimum bar for the scene.

What are the 3 pieces you can’t live without?

A great pair of white minimal sneakers, a pair of navy trousers and a navy crewneck. My go-to outfit.

What is one fashion advice more men should listen to?

Don’t care about the opinion of others, wear whatever gives you confidence and makes you feel good!

Thank you for your time. Enjoy the day!
